MA Black Studies and Global Justice

Examine racial, social and economic inequalities affecting Black communities worldwide. This course will develop your critical and research skills through engagement with global justice debates and real‑world projects. Upon completion, you could pursue a career in policy, education, research, or advocacy.

MA International Relations and Security

This degree explores global issues of security, power and conflict, addressing challenges such as migration, terrorism, climate change and social inequality. The course will support preparation for careers in international policy, diplomacy, NGOs, or security.

MSc Policing and Criminal Justice Leadership

Develop an advanced understanding of policing, criminal justice policy and strategic leadership in national and international contexts. Through applied learning and an independent research project, you will build critical, analytical and leadership skills. Upon completion, you could pursue a senior role in policing, criminal justice or public sector organisations.

Interactive Learning Skills and Communication for Postgraduate Study

During this module, you will learn advanced skills in topics such as:

  • Public speaking
  • Writing techniques and language styles
  • Research and referencing techniques.

Research Methods for Postgraduate Study

You will gain an understanding of research methods and methodologies for postgraduate study, as well as learning how to plan and undertake effective research at postgraduate level.

Global Governance & Social Justice

This module allows you to critically explore the intersection between law, global governance and social justice. You will learn about legal and policy frameworks and how these interact to address social inequalities and governance issues at national and international levels.

Two-Semester Pre-Master's

Semester 1

Interactive Learning Skills and Communication for Postgraduate Study

During this module, you will learn advanced skills in topics such as:

  • Public speaking
  • Writing techniques and language styles
  • Research and referencing techniques.

Research Methods for Postgraduate Study

You will gain an understanding of research methods and methodologies for postgraduate study, as well as learning how to plan and undertake effective research at postgraduate level.

ICT Skills for Postgraduate Study

You will develop a range of ICT skills for research purposes and postgraduate study – including the presentation of data and using essential tools in Microsoft Word.

Semester 2

Critical Thinking for Postgraduate Study

You will learn how to critically assess arguments and evidence from a range of academic sources, as well as gaining an understanding of effective critical reading at postgraduate level.

Research Methods for Postgraduate Study

You will gain an understanding of research methods and methodologies for postgraduate study, as well as learning how to plan and undertake effective research at postgraduate level.

Global Governance & Social Justice

This module allows you to critically explore the intersection between law, global governance and social justice. You will learn about legal and policy frameworks and how these interact to address social inequalities and governance issues at national and international levels.
