How to Apply

Applying to study with us is easy. Simply submit your application online and our Admissions Team will contact you soon after with a Conditional Offer. If you’re not sure where to start, follow our handy step-by-step guide below.

Step 1

Choose your course

We offer 19 undergraduate pathways leading onto Bachelor’s degrees at Birmingham City University (BCU) and 9 postgraduate pathways leading onto Master’s degrees at BCU. Have a look through our study options to decide which course is the one for you.

Step 2

Check you meet the entry requirements

You can check your academic eligibility by looking at our Admissions Requirements and selecting your country from the drop-down menu. It may be the case that you’re eligible to apply direct to BCU, without the need to study a pathway programme with us. If you think your qualifications will enable you to do this, you can check here:

Step 3

Submit your application

This is easily done by completing our online application form.

Step 4

Meet any conditions on your offer (if applicable)

Once our Admissions Team have processed your application, they will generate a Conditional Offer which will outline any outstanding conditions that need to be met. Once you meet all conditions, you will receive an Unconditional Offer.

Step 5

Pay your first semester’s fee

A deposit payment is required at this stage, and this is the cost of your first semester of study. For a breakdown of fees per pathway programme, take a look at our Fees page.

Step 6

Receive your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies)

You are nearing the final stage! Find out more about why a CAS is important by reading our visa guide.

Step 7

Apply for your visa

Once your place has been confirmed and you have your CAS, you can apply for your student visa.

Step 8

As soon as you have your visa, you should book your flight to Birmingham – and start your UK study adventure!
