MA Media Production

This is a practical course that will give you the professional skills you’ll need to work in the fast-paced world of Television or Radio. You will gain a detailed understanding of how production processes work – traditional as well as digital distribution – and develop essential entrepreneurial and networking skills.

MA Public Relations

You will learn how to construct an effective PR campaign, combining theory with the practical skills needed to communicate persuasively on behalf of businesses, charities, public bodies, community groups and activists. The course will cover techniques for raising awareness, listening to stakeholders and influencing ethical policies.

Programme Details

Pre-Master’s Modules

Critical Thinking for Postgraduate Study

You will learn how to critically assess arguments and evidence from a range of academic sources, as well as gaining an understanding of effective critical reading at postgraduate level.

Interactive Learning Skills and Communication for Postgraduate Study

During this module, you will learn advanced skills in topics such as:

  • Public speaking
  • Writing techniques and language styles
  • Research and referencing techniques.

Research Methods for Postgraduate Study

You will gain an understanding of research methods and methodologies for postgraduate study, as well as learning how to plan and undertake effective research at postgraduate level.

Final Project

This module will equip you with the advanced skills you need to develop and shape your own creative practice through the production of a final project.

Entry Requirements

You must have either a related qualification or significant work experience.

BCU’s School of Media is based in the Parkside Building on BCU’s City Centre Campus. Inside you will find a suite of TV and radio studios, post-production suites, and a huge green screen studio.
